About Pet Headshots

Everything you need to know about what to wear, how to pose, and what backgrounds to use for the best pet headshots.

What Are Pet Headshots?

HeadShots Inc is proud to offer pet headshots to your favorite furry (or feathered) friend. Through beautiful photography, you can capture a moment in your pet’s life for all time. After your session, take your photos and share them on social-media, set them as the background image on your cell phone, or emblazon unique items like coffee mugs, posters, and t-shirts.

Pet headshots are high-quality portrait sessions built to help you capture your pet’s unique character in high resolution. Our photographers are trained (with your assistance) to apply to the same techniques we use on high-powered corporate headshot sessions – but used to create a “Vogue” style editorial shoot for your pet.

How Do I Prepare for Pet Headshots?

There are two important steps you can take to prepare for your pet headshot sessions:

1) First, please try to “practice” with your animal. If you can, place them against a wall, have them sit, and try to get them to look in a specific direction. If you have a friend who can assist, have them take out their phone and actually try to get your pet to sit still and look at your friend’s phone. When they do, give them a treat.

2) Please bring your pet’s favorite treats to the shoot. This step is critical to getting your pet to look at the camera. During the shoot, your photographer will hold the treat directly above our camera right before taking a shot.

When Do You Offer Pet Headshots?

For now, pet headshot sessions are offered as an on-demand service for in-home sessions. In the future, we’ll be hosting regular “pet headshot days” at local parks. To get notified of future pet headshot events, please email us at smile@headshots-inc.com and we’ll add you to the mailing list.
